This Morning’s Fog Was the Good Kind, Residents Agree
Thick enough to be atmospheric, thin enough to find the bakery. Critics are calling it the fog of the season.
The fog that settled over Cozy Town early Tuesday has drawn broad acclaim from residents, many of whom described it as the best in recent memory and possibly a career high for local weather.
“You want a fog you can walk into but also out of,” said Bernard Sock, who has watched morning weather from his porch for thirty-one years. “This one had structure. It had restraint. The 2019 fog was showier, but it lacked warmth.”
The fog arrived at approximately 5:40 a.m., wrapped the church steeple by 6:15, and burned off at 9:30 in what witnesses called “a tasteful exit.” Streetlamps reportedly looked “like something from a book.”
Not all reviews were positive. Tansy Mapp, the town’s crossing guard, awarded the fog two stars, citing professional differences. “Beautiful, sure,” she said. “You know what else is beautiful? Seeing the children.”
The forecast calls for more fog Thursday. Expectations, meteorologists warn, may now be unfairly high.
